Unique Markets of Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai, second city of Thailand, is known to be very creative and has many artists and designers living here.
Chiang Mai is a mythical city, with hundreds of temples, it was once the capital of the Lanna Kingdom!

I already visited two times Chiang Mai. One time in 2018 and another in 2019.
I liked so much the vibe of the city and its inhabitants, I made it one of my best home base in the world.

There are so many markets in Chiang Mai that even long time living residents don’t know them all. Vendors are sprawling everywhere. You can’t find a neighborhood without its own market. And on top of that you have special market on various days.

One of the most famous is the Sunday Night market that attracts hordes of tourists. During tourist season the most known markets are so packed that you can’t even walk in there. Then there are seasonal markets that can happen just once a year. But the most common ones, are the every day markets that follow the street sides.

Some markets are thematic and are catered to one specific kind of merchandise like clothes, food, flower, or amulets.

Get lost in the bustling local mercantile activities of Northern Thailand.
