Journal Entry: Day 256

(Nomad: Day 1448),
Simon’s Town, South Africa,

A little jump from Hout Bay and I arrived at Simon’s town which is still on the cape peninsula. Even though the distance from Hout bay is not far, the road is one of the most scenic of the country, the well-known Chapman’s peak road. Simon’s town is a nice small town, from here I will be able to go to the southernmost point of the cape of good hope. The most interesting here is that there is an African penguin colony, they stay on Boulders beach and are about 3000 individuals. They make a donkey-like sound, very interesting and it is easy to get close to them. Today all roads are close in this area due to a cycle tour race, it is one of the biggest events of this kind.
