So I published a new video, and at the same time I created a new Youtube channel dedicated to SoundXplorer!
During these first 13 months (from March 2018 to May 2019), I traveled as nomad solo while recording sounds as field recordist, crossing 25 countries. Here I am presenting all the gear I had packed with me during this trip time . Nowadays, I am still travelling but my setup has completely evolved (I will post another video with my latest gear). More about the challenges I had and solutions I found for this trip: https://soundxplorer.com/1-year-nomad-field-recording-through-25-countries-my-top-18-challenges

How did you store the Sanken CO-100k when it was not in use? I would love to pack mine in a bag and take it with me but I’m scared I’ll brake it.
When I still had the CO-100k, I stored it in a simple but effective way. I used sturdy plastic tubes (the kind often used for medication tabs) — my Sennheiser MKH8060 actually shipped with one, and the length was very close to the Sanken. Those tubes are lightweight, waterproof, and surprisingly robust. I’d slip the mic inside and then place the tube inside a foam pouch or bag for extra cushioning. That setup was small enough to carry in a bag without worry, and it kept the mic well protected when not in use.
