Journal Entry: Day 18

Kampar, Perak, Malaysia,

Yesterday, another day in MCO (Movement Control Order) here in Malaysia. This can be called also lock-down. It is almost the same rules as the first one in March/April 2020. But this is time I was prepared, and had time to prepare. I have to say this lock-down feels more like a routine check, and has about 90% less impact on my mental and physical health than the first lock-down. I am surely really glad how things are turning up. I remember how lucky I am being now in this part of the world and this country during this difficult time, destiny brings me here and I can’t think of a better place to be right now. I am seeing more restrictions on travel in many other countries as cases are rising more and more. All travel plans always need to be canceled. Hopefully the vaccine will make things better, but it will take some times. Indeed my parents just got vaccinated, I am happy they could find an appointment to do that since it is very busy as everyone is seeking for the vaccine.

Today is an holiday in Malaysia, although I don’t see the difference with another day during this period. It is Thaipusam, it usually is a celebration among hindu population at temples, and particularly at Batu caves, but this year is different of course.
I would have loved to witness these celebrations but with the current regulations I don’t think it is possible. Anyway I will take a look at the local hindu temple while passing by this area. Maybe there is something going on.
